Kaufman House Restoration Project
A project the foundation hopes to move forward with will bring the historical Kaufman House in Zelienople back to life. If all goes as planned, not only will the restaurant be revived, but the guest rooms as well. The facility was built in 1909, but the restaurant was closed in 2011 due to a fire. The hotel portion has not been used for overnight stays since the early 70s. Through the foundation, the Kaufman House's history will be preserved, including a restaurant/coffee shop/lounge, a boutique hotel with 18-22 rooms, and will serve as a training facility for the tourism and hospitality industries. Butler County Community College (BC3) has agreed to provide internship opportunities for culinary arts and hospitality management positions.
This project will be run by an outside management company, in partnership with:
Not only will this project bring a beloved local restaurant back to life, but it will create jobs, and train the next generation of hospitality industry workers. |
